Client Stories

Chief Executive NGO

I have found Claudine’s approach to relational coaching really helpful...it has given me space to think and to steer the direction most useful to me... I felt a connection with Claudine which has enabled me to be reflective and challenge myself and my motivations without feeling defensive...to have someone to talk through things without consequences or judgement is hugely valuable.

Chief Executive NGO

Claudine is helping me to explore and consider my role, my boundaries, my triggers, my strengths, and my actions in a gentle but assertive way. She has helped me to extend those boundaries, taking steps I would not have done without her coaching which has helped me to make progress in the professional areas which are challenging me but also in my personal life. Claudine's skills are unmatched.

Strategy Manager Global Business

Claudine created a space where I could be vulnerable without judgement, but also where I knew I would leave our problem-solving sessions energised and with a sense of purpose. I got clarity on how to address current challenges, and a good framework for how to think about the future. I particularly appreciated Claudine's decades of experience with consulting and project delivery.

CFO International NGO

Incredibly helpful coaching sessions to help me with my recent change of sector, future career planning, confidence in decisions I’ve made in my career to date, prompts to work on in terms of leadership style and a clear idea of career and development plans for the next few years. Very helpful to spend the time focused on these issues amidst a busy role, and has given me a renewed sense of confidence and purpose.

Head of Corporate Affairs Global Business

Claudine has helped me to step back from the day-to-day to frame what is important to me in this new role. Our sessions have given me space to explore priorities in terms of both the work, but also the values that I want to bring to the role. Claudine has helped me to be honest about what may hold me back and how I can address this.

Fundraising professional Global NGO

Claudine is wonderful at elevating you when you might need a friendly nudge, but at the same time incredibly skilled at calling you out on behaviours or patterns which might be holding you back. She has a way of doing this that is lovely and warm but also very authentic and effective. I would not hesitate to recommend Claudine to anyone looking for a boost in identifying, and upholding, their professional worth.

My mission has always been to make a difference in the world.

For the first 16 years of my career, I channeled this passion by working in government – trying to improve systems and services to keep people safe and help them thrive through better education, health and security.

Then I moved country – and sector – and worked with governments, multilaterals and businesses around the world. I used my operational experience to make sure strategy and lofty goals were translated into real, on-the-ground impact.

And now I coach. I coach in all sorts of different ways: individually; with teams; in peer groups, and with organisations looking to collaborate. But the goal is always the same: to help leaders make a difference.

I’ve gone from working across different systems around the world to focusing on what matters most when it comes to making a difference – and that is the potential that every single one of us has to lead well.

My why

Apparently this is where you’re supposed to start. Not with the what or the how but with the why. So here goes.

It’s 2020 and on paper everything looks good but things feel somehow misaligned. I’m turning 44. It’s the age my Dad was when he died.

What’s my background and how does it make me a better coach?

From my career as a senior civil servant in the UK government, I bring lived experience of how to lead successfully in a complex and demanding political system. Advising Tony Blair on innovation in public services at the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit was a real lesson in what it takes to lead change and improvement when people, and structures, are set in their ways.

Having shaped thinking and action on numerous social and political challenges, I’m not afraid of seemingly impossible problems. At the Cabinet Office Defence and Overseas Secretariat, I had the opportunity to design the core pillars of the country’s counter-terrorism strategy, which is still in place today.
I later worked for Prime Minister Gordon Brown to lead an independent review of online safety and violent video games. Securing collaboration across fiercely competing stakeholder interests allowed me to test and refine my skills as a facilitator.
Over the years, I progressed from building high-performing policy teams to establishing large national operations. As Director of Academies at the Department for Education, I headed up a growing group of 250 people across England. That job showed me how to instill my leadership vision and values across a broader stage, and how to lead a team who were leaders in their own right.
My move out to the private sector – leading the growth of a global company that doubled in size across 15 countries during my tenure – taught me about commercial realities and cross-cultural staff engagement. Helping leaders around the world ensure that their ideas were turned into meaningful impact for the people they served put all my change-management muscles to the test.
There are many more leadership experiences and lessons I could share. But the headline is this: I’ve been there and I get it. I don’t coach from a place of theory; I am at your side and ready to help you make a difference.
